Job Description:

Responsible for the preparation and negotiation of certain Tri-State contracts as assigned. Negotiates and drafts contracts and amendments associated with the electric transmission system, as conditions require. Assists in the administration of contracts and agreements. Provides billing assistance to the billing functional area, as required.

Transmission Contracts Manager

Hiring Salary Range: $140,000-$191,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and draft contracts and amendments associated with the electric transmission system, as conditions require, for:

  • Transmission and Generator Interconnection service

  • Joint system participation and construction

  • Interconnection and construction

  • New member delivery points

  • Operation and/or maintenance

  • SCADA, Metering and /or Telecommunication agreements

  • Other topics, as assigned

  • Manage the administration of the above contracts and agreements.

  • Provide billing assistance to the billing functional area, as required.

  • Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate electric utility industry regulatory requirements. Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with, and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

  • B.S. degree in Business, Economics, Contracts or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Ability to apply engineering theory and principles in drafting contracts.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with all levels of personnel within and outside the company.

  • General knowledge of government regulations affecting electric utilities.

  • General knowledge of contract law.

Experience

  • Eight (8) years of progressive experience with an electric utility in planning, operations, engineering, maintenance or contracting.

Other:

  • Willingness to travel as required. (Must possess a valid driver's license.)

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform all of the essential functions of the position.

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
