Brief Posting Description

This position has primary responsibility for analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and operational aspects of the Endpoint Computing tools and systems. Responsible for operation of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), VMWare View, Enterprise Mobility Management, Active Directory Group Policies, Avecto, and other associated endpoint computing systems. Also responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers, and seeks to ensure the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers. Responsible for acquiring, installing, or upgrading computer components and software, providing routine automation, maintaining security policies, troubleshooting, training staff, and offering technical support for projects. This position will work closely with peers in the deployment of Microsoft updates, third party patching, application and operating system deployments, and Windows 10 development and servicing. This position will also resolve tickets and incidents opened by end users for SCCM client, application/patch deployments, new system image certification, and Windows client deployments.

IT Endpoint Computing Engineer

Hiring Salary Range: $97,000-$122,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create scripting solutions within PowerShell for various administrative needs.

  • Update and Distribute new enterprise images (OSD) to distribution points and endpoints.

  • Update and Distribute new enterprise driver packages to distribution points and endpoints.

  • Update and Distribute new enterprise boot WIMs (Windows Imaging Format) to distribution points.

  • Assist and lead troubleshooting local site image deployments, driver packages, and task sequences

  • Coordinate, schedule and deploy applications and updates. Manage deployment to enterprise managed systems and endpoints.

  • Manage and coordinate the enterprise maintenance window.

  • Manage and deploy security patches in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and operate endpoint management tools such as Avecto, Enterprise Mobility, VMWare Virtual Desktops

  • Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate electric utility industry regulatory requirements. Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with, and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Knowledge of IT Service Management processes and best practices.

  • Understanding local system settings and Group Policy Objects.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows 10 Operating Systems.

  • Understanding of application packaging and deployments.

  • Knowledge of Active Directory and DNS.

  • Knowledge of Powershell scripting.

  • Knowledge of VMWare View administration.

  • Knowledge of EMM tool administration (Airwatch, Intune, others).

  • A positive attitude and a conscientious commitment to customer service and problem resolution.

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to technical, user personnel, and management.

Experience:

  • Eight (8) years of systems administration experience in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. (Experience requirements below may be concurrent with eight (8) years requirement.)

  • Three (3) years of experience performing regularly scheduled and out of band Windows patch management using Microsoft SCCM.

  • Three (3) years of experience managing Operating System, Application Deployment, and Patch management using Microsoft SCCM.

  • Five (5) years of experience in MS SCCM 2007 required.

  • Highly experienced with image creation/testing and deployment through Microsoft MDT and or SCCM environments.

  • SCCM Log and SQL reporting experience.

  • Experience working with Incident Management tools (Remedy, ServiceNow, Cherwell).

Other:

  • Regional travel may be required up to 10% as needed. (Must possess a valid driver's license.)

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with SCCM 2012 preferred.

  • Microsoft Operating certification (MCSA).

  • Security+ or other Security Certifications.

  • ITIL Certifications.

  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

  • VMWare Horizon View.

  • Intune, Airwatch, other EMM tools.
