Brief Posting Description
This position is responsible for understanding and being proficient at all basic tasks regarding basic trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining most/all surface mining equipment used on site, performing these job duties in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in an active surface mine, preferred.
Practical knowledge of surface mining operations.
Knowledge of federal and state mining laws.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Experience:
Previous experience operating 100+ ton or off road trucks or other heavy equipment operation, preferred.
Other:
Valid driver's license required.

Use of feet to operate foot controls.Visual requirements are low light, near, far and lateral vision, and depth perception.Auditory requirements are hearing signals, radio routine communications.Occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
Mental demands: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to read, write, analyze and review data, exercise judgment and work independently.
Work Environment: Drives haul trucks and other heavy equipment. Works near hazardous machinery.Walks on uneven ground, exposed to dust, noise, and solvents.
